Hi, does anyone know/have used rubber masking boots to mask connectors, headers etc. prior to conformally coating them? i would appreciate contacts for custom rubber boot manufacturers in the united states. Thanks, Amol

From my previous experience with silicone, it tend to be need to spray with thick coating(s) and it's more watery. The boots doesn't work too well in those cases. Just a note, now I am no longer working with silicone. For conformal coating, best m

A while ago I tried using rubber boots for masking but couldn't get them to work because the coating we use (Humiseal 1B73) is so thin it leaches under the rubber. If you can get them to work with your application more power to ya.

i am going to try it to use with Electrolube HPA. BTW we ran into a similar ptoblem, we just put pink mask on it to seal it off. still takes less time than to mask them with tape

Caplugs Very low tech, and very low cost. you will have to do a bit of work to find a size that will work for you, but the savings are worth it.
