If you are sure that your part data is correct, have you checked the calibration of Z origin? Are the parts leaving an impression on the paste or is there no indication of an attempted place. How small of resistors are we talking 0402, 0603, 0805?

Dennis, Not sure why your so secrative about what machine but I guess it doesn't matter. When you start placing 0402 & 0603 packages the difference between height and width and length gets lost in tolerance. This allows the machine to pass parts t

Our standard is: Accept and/or reject decisions must be based on applicable documentation. As an element of this, the marking on the part must identify the part positively. If the marking on the part does not identify the part positively, the ins

Sounds like "place" problem doenit? As best as I can tell [ever notice how the trail get fuzzy pretty fast, when someone starts asking probing questions], we received someone caps manufactured by someone other than Rolm through a distributor. The p

Hopefully it is just the part data a little bit off. But if that doesn't help, make sure the thickness sensor is calibrated bang on. And do the nozzle height adjustment. What are your nozzles and filters like, as far as being clean goes? I've put dow

Your English is fine. Your assessment that corrosion on a portion of the metalization on the end of a component is causing the tombstoning is reasonable. We've seen that before. Corroded components received from a supplier is not acceptable as an

Hello! We placed quite a few of 0402 with our CP3 using 0.7mm nozzle with the same feeder as you had. Pick up can be adjust and calibrated, but that is not the problem, I agreed with you on that part. The trick is you have adjust and play around wi

Thanks for the input Pete. I am using CP4 8x2 feeders. I have tried first with 0.7mm nozzle. Although pick up was OK, the camera saw a pregnant 0402 part which is as you know is 1mm by 0.5mm. I then moved to specially made 0.6mm nozzle to minimise th

While the 85% yield on a per board basis seems low, we are actually running over 99% yield on a per solder joint basis as there are about 17,700 joints per panel. On average, 9 out of 63 boards in the panel need rework. Rework issues include missin

Our first pass yield across all our products is above 95% but we include anything that does not meet IPC standards. Probably 75% of our failures are not electrical. AOI is a great tool to get a consistent measure of your process. I dont know how anyo
