We've got an MPM Speedline AP/B that's in Imperial ( inch ) units - everything else here is Metric. Can this printer be configured to Metric units ? Software AP/UP2000 sw ver 7.0c currently installed if that makes any difference Cheers

There is a spec I read that states +/- 0.001" (0.025mm) print deposition accuracy and repeatability is more than adequate for 0201-chip printing. I don't think any print studies where done for 01005 chips yet. There are several other factors besides

I prefer 'YAUC' [Yet Another Unit Converter] by Marius Miller. YAUC converts between many units - Metric, Imperial and others. It supports 585 units, in 40 categories, including Acceleration, Angle, Area, Current, Density, Energy, Force, Frequency

I have a UP-100 screen printer that was locking up on me by removing my cursor and not allowing any button presses. I did a hard reset and this fixed it temporarily i now have encountered a new problem where the unit displays a "communication error""

On our MPM UP3000's there is a configuration option in the maintenance menu. It has a button that changes from imperial to Metric.

Off topic a bit but I wonder what machines out there today are actually capable of placing 01005 components and whether it is a big deal to go down to 01005 from 0201 or 0402.

Assembleon A Series does it. Sony F-130 and Fuji XP143 both claim it possible on these machines. But I too wonder if there is a real need going down to 01005 from 0201 at least!

Hi, Yes, and then how do you design a stencil that paste releases reliably. Do people put lots of 01005 components on the board, or just the minimum required to do a tough job? Regards, Grant

Nope, credit where credit's due - I'll let you have that one (Well, I do have Firday off, & I'm in a good mood!).

Not on mine Sadly. When you go to page 2 of the menu the units are displayed for reference only in a grey box on screen. Can't find any settings that will actually change yet
