Not familiar with Philips machines but have had similar problem: If Philips uses fiber optics and halogen bulbs for lighting in the vision system, try installing a new bulb.

have you try to adjust lighting level . are there any object over the camera??? try to clean the camera len and adjust focus, see any help.

I've used a couple of different ERP packages in the past that claimed to do a little bit of everything. Typically, they did one thing really really well; and some other things, not so well. SAP or Oracle could probably give you a customized system
