Ooooow! Can it be fixed? Good question. How BAD did you damage it? * Since you are asking this question, I am NOT inspired by the potential that you have the skills to fix the board. Go Jeff Ferrys site at Circuit Repair Center [If you cant f

Punched vs, Routered PCB's

We are investigating purchasing boards off-shore (Topsearch). Part of their process is to punch the matrix instead of router them. These boards are mixed technology. Is anyone aware of difficulity processing punched boards? Thanks, Mike

Ken, The technology you are referring to is also known as return-to-web. This panelization method involves a hard tooled perimeter die and a press equipped with an air cushion. The PCB circuit is punched out and then inserted or "pushed" back into

3 lyr with gnd /pwr plane (most of the mixed has sheilding). I guess I am just repeating what Earl has said earlier. It would be nice to ask them for sub-ing it out for scoring as sometimes it is hard to route (SS or DS). I am pretty sure that

Beware the foam fluxer. I had a problem with cracked caps that just about drove me off the deep end. I discovered that my foam fluxer air knife was not turned on resulting in excessive flux. The excessive flux (VOC free) was not properly dried off

Alternatives to v-score or mouse-bites?

oooff... be careful of punch dies. They leave a lot of debris and can stress components on the PCB. If you're using them, be sure to verify stress levels with a strain gauge test. Semi-fractured components can pass test, yet eventually cause latency

Unconventional way of making a PCB

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 26 13:02:15 EST 2002 | MA/NY DDave

Hi Again, As I was thinking about this, I remembered another unconventional way that I was told about from one of the starters of this technology. Now I don't think anyone would use this technique anymore, yet here it is: Press Cutting and Pushing

Pinging DaveF.....PCB Singulation Systems - hydraulic press?

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 02 19:54:31 EDT 2009 | davef

CK The term that you're searching for is: "Singulation" the process of die punching circuit boards with a hydraullic press. [Although the very nice people that sell "saw depanelers" call their equipment singulators. We assume they do that because e
