We use one quite often. Our machine is a Uvitron Conveyor 40 as we are a large coating house and this allows us to process many boards. Dymax also maufactures and sells machines as well. Humiseal and Dymax both manufacture UV coatings. Emerson Cuming

That is true; it is not a fast process but it is selective and uses minimal material. Also true that the application consistency has to be checked and sometimes minor adjustments made at the beginning of a run. We have a program that checks for a con

If you are going to coat very low volumes then just spray it by hand. The automated machines just won't be worth it unless you are going to do a very large run. They are complicated, require constant attention, still require masking the board and are

If I assume you running a selective coating machine ? Maybe you have small leak and system is sucking in air creating bubbles in mixture, like a sort of venturi action, just idea, can be a faulty fitting , elbow etc. Have had this before....

Hi BJ, Everyone's favourite answer...it depends! If the volume if large, masking boots will save you both, time and money in the long run. Custom boots are relatively expensive to buy, but they pay themselves over time by savings on masking tape. ma

Hi, Is anyone out there using the PVA selective conformal coating machine and knowledgable about programming it?

Hi Grant, Replacing a wave witha spot solder? You must have very few comonents to solder or all day to solder them. Why are thinking of doing this? Well, I have looked at just about every selective machine out there. What it all boils down to is

How does the cost of these machines compare to setting up a spray booth? The large outsource coating houses around here all spray from a gun in a booth instead of using machines. Is there a breakpoint in volume where the machines make more sense?

We use a number of conformal coating materials. When you say you think you want to use a UV material do you mean UV cure, or just material with a UV trace for inspection purposes? For selecting appropriate materials take a look at IPC-HDBK-830. Keep
