SMTNet has a video tape and interactive CD ROM on Intrusive Reflow Soldering that you may want to check out. In addition there are some free inspection standards for pin in hole printing, placement and soldering available at http://www.dpmo-monitori

The connector is so long, and has big metal parts, it will be little deformed during reflow I guess, andthe pins planarity should be critical for 200 pins. Did you measure the non wetting pins profile to see if temperature ok? And maybe you can try u

Steve, I have no influence over conn design. We paste print-reflow solder two types of connectors. One is a 50 pin IDC w/ 0.5mm lead dia @ 2.54mm lead pitch and a chamfered pointed lead tip. The other is 32 pin DIP w/ 0.36mm lead dia @ 2.54mm pitch

We have encountered high percentage of pin holes issue after lead-free reflow soldering from particular diode supplier that manufactured at Morocco. However, very little reject being found if the particular component is manufactured at China by using

Hello Sir. We also encountered the same pin-hole issue but there was around MLCC.I also looked for some information in technical report and internet, But i failed to get an answer. As you know this pin hole or blow hole is caused by the solder boilin

Hi, blow holes / pin holes / holes in joints are usually a sign that there is excess moisture somewhere around the solder joint. Moisture can be in pcbs / components, so try drying them....a simple thing to do is pass a bare pcb throught your reflow

Hi , Looking at your photo....can I also see a hole in the middle of the joint on the chip component ? Maybe its not just a problem with th ejoint son diodes ? Did you also get mid chip solder balls on chips? If so, I'd almost guarantee the pcb has t

| I'm working on a prototype board that requires a 600 pin BGA. This is a metal top BGA being placed on a 11" x 17" PCB about .62" thick. | | The part is 1.77" square with a 50 mil pitch and 30 mil bump diameter. The bumps are located on the

If you kink the leads will you be able to insert it without flexing the board/moving any of the other components? Also these pin headers aren't always designed for this process so have you checked that it will take the elevated temperatures?
