Stencil aperture positional accuracy

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 06 04:55:59 EDT 2012 | ccgooi

I have fabricated a artwork of stencil on a mylar and make comparison on PCB and Stencil in order to confirm if there is any PCB stretching at both end. The results are comparable for both stencil and PCB without any stretching . So,I assumed that th

Precision parts and precision boards are nice for the initial evaluation but are costly for routine monthly accuracy tests. I know for a fact all the Siemens machines leaving Germany are evaluated with precision parts and board and placements are eva

Off topic a bit but I wonder what machines out there today are actually capable of placing 01005 components and whether it is a big deal to go down to 01005 from 0201 or 0402.

Assembleon A Series does it. Sony F-130 and Fuji XP143 both claim it possible on these machines. But I too wonder if there is a real need going down to 01005 from 0201 at least!

Hi, Yes, and then how do you design a stencil that paste releases reliably. Do people put lots of 01005 components on the board, or just the minimum required to do a tough job? Regards, Grant

Nope, credit where credit's due - I'll let you have that one (Well, I do have Firday off, & I'm in a good mood!).

I am looking for a specification required for printing 01005 size chip. Does anybody know the solder paste deposition accuracy and alignment accuracy required for printing 01005 chip? And currently which machine can print 01005? If somebody knows

Most of the major chip mounter makers claim that they do have a capability of handling 01005. Like Samsung, Yamaha, Assembleon, Panasonic, etc. But I've never found any screen printer company yet. What is the specification required for selecting scre

Hi, Yes, I would love to know this as well. Our machines can handle the component sizes, but how do the printers handle it? We have a DEK, and that's a good printer, but how do you design the stencil to reliably paste release on components this smal

(... so hard to resist... Rob is probably going to kick my derriere for this post...) So was Assembleon... They first placed a very large QFP (think it was 208) and then placed a whole bunch of 01005's in between the leads. And to top it off they al
