Consider posting actual measurements of your pads, component leads, and apertures.

I am sorry, they are fine-pitch QFPs (20 mils)

Selective Laser Soldering? Beamworks and Speedline Electrovert Both demo'd units at APEX. I am partial to the Beamwork machine cause it was able to do BGAs. Are the QFPs acceptable? You mention cleaning the pads, Stencil aperture enlargement could t

All the points raised so far are correct. Only use QFPs if rearly pushed as the yield on your process will suffer. I have wave soldered parts down to 0.020" in nitrogen with OK results but the pads and drainage pads need to be worked on. Another r

What do you all do to fix coplanarity on fine pitch QFPs? I know that the best thing would be to send them back to the vender, but what about the when you gotta use them? Straightening by hand seems to be so time comsuming. Any better ways? Larry
