Additionally, I have seen the bad align error from incorrect pickup Z. Quad align can freak out sometimes if it sees something it doesn't like. If all else fails I just reboot and 99% of the time the problem goes away.

Quad4C's have their moments. If the price is right and you are aware of the machines limitations then you will be satisfied. The placement rate is slow, 1.2 seconds/chip. Don't buy any Quad if it has the CyberOptics Laser unit, the Quadalign unit is

I dont know if vision on spin fail was ever for small parts....its more for bigger fine pitch that fail in the quadalign and then given another chance to pass over the upward camera.

Does anyone know how to make the vision alignment work on a Quad 4C? What I mean is make it work right, and reliably. I know how to define the component for inspection (lead pitch, lead count, dimensions, tolerances, etc.), and I know how to set ligh

2c belt driven.....'a little' less accurate (costs less) 4c ball screw......'a little' more accurate (costs more) vu4-vu6 upward camera for fine pitch.....cant remember but the differenc is the field of view for camera. part centering is quad-align

haha....thanks Steve!!! Nozzle Height of 1 means that you have dust or something in the quadalign lens. You need to clean the lens with alcohol then a dry lint free cloth and if it stays the same....that means the lens has an issue or there is dirt

I would change the Quad Align cable. If you have a spare head board swap that out as well. Make sure your Quad Align lenses are clean. If the camera is smudged then you can have some problems aligning parts as well. Let us know what you find. Cheers.

It sounds like it's just failing the laser align step. Try changing the align type for the part to "2" and see if it places it. If it's failing the laser align and you have valid part dimensions I can't help much but you might consider opening up th

Does anyone know of a source for better documentation for the laser align settings? I managed to get a 1206 ceramic capacitor to measure and was working on a 1206 resistor and couldn't get it to succeed. I retried the cap and it failed again and ag

Quad Align.....Cyber-optics....no difference...they both work well. Never tried a micro-bga but i know the upward camera does standard bga parts.
