Dear Friend, SMD E-cap wasn't a Flat ribbon, L or gull wing. Pls. look at SOIC & QFP for Flat ribbon, L or gull wing. So far IPC had confirmed dont have any criteria set specific for SMD E-cap.

Gull wing components are name on the pin/lead shape of the ICs like sop, qfp, pqf etc while plcc IC package is named on J-lead componets. Flat ribbon is of cable/wiring type and it is not a component, see this website. http://directory.jimtrade.com/2

On the contrary, IPC-610 refers to flat ribbon leads in the same context as gullwing and "L" leads. I've always assumed that they were one in the same (could be wrong here...certainly wouldn't be anything new) and have never seen L or flat ribbon r

Ribbon cable is 25 ml pitch (11.8 mil pad-to-pad), and solder is pre-applied and reflowed to the PCB pads. What is the best attachment method for this ribbon cable? What is the best method to prevent solder bridging? Hot bar, soldering iron with "

Don't have a picture but a ribbon lead is jaust a flat lead with no standoff capability. look at a SMT electrolytic cap for this lead type.

Nice picture. What's that snot on the solder in the bottom left of the picture? I'd guess that this ribbon cable wants to be hot bar soldered.
