Hi, does anyone have any experience with common wave soldering defects using SAC305 alloy?.....i am finding a lot of what seem to be shrinkage cracks on the bottom side surface of the soldered components.....there is also a lot of directional cooling

SN100C vs. SAC 305 wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 29 22:19:36 EST 2005 | Joseph

We have tested SN100C for LF wave soldering process since August'05 and currently start production for a month ago. Initially we use SAC305, but due to the shrinkage cavities (micro-crack) we changeover to SN100C. In summary, SN100C did perform well

Switch to SN100C (no pun intended). I cant help with the SAC 305 issues but we should have a wave with SN100 running very soon. I will let you all know how that goes. Please report back on the x-sectioning and share the results. I have heard some v

Differences between solder paste alloy SAC305 and SAC405.

1)Though in many cases the difference between SAC305 and SAC405 was small, and not always statistically significant, it was observed that SAC405 generally outperformed SAC305 joints. Under 0°C to 100°C thermal cycling,no statistically significant

IPC Conference Raises New Lead-free Reliability Concerns

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 20 07:54:25 EDT 2007 | Bob R.

I'm in the high reliability (exempt) sector and have thermal cycled hundreds of boards in the past few years. As far as which is more reliable, SnPb or SAC305, my data is similar to what the technical literature is saying, "It Depends". In low stra

Lead-free solder alloy: SN100C from AIM solder

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 27 17:18:07 EDT 2005 | Carl

Any issues in your experience using SAC305 for reflow and SN100C for wave on ENIG pcbs? I've seen the CD, but there's not much specific data regarding ENIG pcbs Thanks
