Conformal coat material dispensed through epoxy needle?

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 03 17:14:49 EST 2017 | westshoredesign

You should have no problem. We use a very dated Asymtek machine (Automove 303) retrofitted for dispensing, air over syringe. It took time and some tinkering with. But all things considered, we're able to achieve remarkable results. I would recommend

Which side of PCB should be prefered for screening...

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 18 16:48:55 EDT 2001 | jschake

Why do you think that assembling the BGA, QFP, and fine pitch parts will solve your bridging problem? I would think doing this may cause you more grief by having these more massive components being reflowed upside down fall off during the second pas

Damaged PCB.. what do you think?

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 16 10:04:41 EDT 2012 | davef

We'd repair a drop board like this. Here's what our old friend Jeff Ferry said is a published article ... When boards lose their edge: when the corner of a circuit board breaks or is damaged, the problem cannot be ignored by Jeff Ferry One of the m

How do you clean OSP PCB's without washing it off?

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 14 20:11:19 EDT 2006 | davef

You weren't specific about the OSP that you use. We use Entek Plus CU-106A. Yes, just about everything removes Entek, especially if there's heat involved. Ethone states: * Alcohol strips 70% of the coating * Water removes 15% * Kyzen Lonox only t

BGA testing - Xray

Electronics Forum | Thu Jul 07 16:43:23 EDT 2005 | jam

We are starting to use high count BGAs (512). Is there an industry standard on how to inspect the BGAs. Should all BGAs be inspected with Xray equipment or is there other solutions? Thank you

BGA Moisture Absorption

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 24 07:16:08 EDT 2003 | sanjeevc

The moisture sensetive bags that carry your BGAs will have the specs in regards to your baking cycles. But definetly you have to bake the BGAs if its been stored at 60% humidity.Normally the shop floor area should not be at such higher humidity. You ca

Conformal Coating Coverage

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 30 15:41:52 EST 2003 | MikeF

The easy part is to determine which parts should be coated. The harder part is making sure the parts that should not be coated do not get coated. I don't even want to think about the amount of labor and materials I've lost due to conformal coat get

BGA Bouble sided reflow overlapping

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 05 11:01:37 EST 2000 | Ron Lahat

I have in design a 400mm x 400mm pcb 3.0 mm thick heavily populated with BGAs 50 mil pitch and want to run a double sided reflow process with overlapping BGAs (CS/PS) 1. can I avoid a selective jig for PS BGAs?(weight calculation ?) 2. Is it possibl

Tin Lead BGAs in leadfree paste

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 07 08:44:10 EST 2006 | billyd

Craig - You should not use the leaded parts, as you are, in all likelyhood, going to see massive voiding. We just went through this same deal where I work, because a manufacturer sent us the incorrect parts. You can go with lead free parts with regul
