Agilent 5DX

Looks like an improvement to the spinning stuff, but gads, I wish these people would stop using the term slice. The Teradyne still does not create a slice. It infers things from different sized shadows. It still cannot actually image a slice thoug

Yes, your "slice theory" is correct, but ask yourself "how many slices?" This is the trick. By adding "slice points", you increase the robustness of the image. At the same time, you add time to the scan. Not too much that it outweighs the benefits,

Middle Height Splice

The term is indeed "slice", Daniel. I am the 5DX engineer here in Austin, TX. To answer your question, The 5DX can slice at varying heights of virtually any solder joint. By changing certain comment lines of the NDF and RTF files, the 5DX can view th

Jason, In Transmission AXI the entire solder joint volume is imaged, not just a slice (no missing information) as with Cross-Section. Also, there is no signal loss from mechanical or digital image reconstruction (highest contrast and edge strength).

Issues depaneling

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 23 19:20:18 EST 1998 | Kevin

A buddy of mine has problems after depaneling double sided pre-scored PCB's. Resistors near the edge, after put into the slice and dice machine contain micro cracks. He's checked for them before and after depaneling. We figure it is the sectioning

Wasn't the potato chip invented by accident when someone dropped sliced potatoes in hot oil? Maybe this could be the new thing! Lead-Tots or something like that.

What kind of "slice and dice machine" do you use? I assume you're referring to what I call a score-breaker -- a device to separate the board from the panel (or from the adjacent board) by crushing the score-line WITHOUT bending the panel or the boar

Middle Height Splice

Do you mean middle height slice ? . This is a term used to describe the x-ray taken at a mid-ball position on a BGA ball , ie , the "fattest/widest" part if the ball . This is generally done to see if voids contained within have led to fracture acros

Agilis Feeders

I just read a blurb about the new feeder in a previous thread and was just wondering if these are the greatest things next to sliced bread like they claim it to be. From what I can see in the magazine add it looks like the cover tape is pealed and r
