We use gerber file for pick and place in smt machines, but in aoi we use cad files. Can you please suggest me how to convert gerber file into cad file by using cadEasy software of omron.

Hi, here's my 2 cents sir: You need.. a) The Gerber Data and the BOM b) Extract the XY CAD from the GERBER and build what they call Centroid Data. Save this in text format. c) Use Cad2Cad to import the centroid data and save it as Philips VIOS txt

If you have the HLC software you can recombine programs and output the pick and place file as a text file

We have different codes for different mfg's. Also we try to stay away from text inspection as much as possible since that is done already in incoming inspection.

Yeah, I agree with you. We do the same but Wrong Text inspection is something they have told me we would remove for two years now, but they still won't let me pull the trigger on it. Mainly because our line workers still place wrong reels or mislabel
