I am looking at a Universal Instrument Machine that accepts 24V/42V feeders. What is the benefit of the newer feeders? Which ones are more reliable for 8mm? Why are they so expensive? Pneumatic Yamaha run $50 new from china.

Thanks, what about the camera calibration? Does it use the same kit as the GSM machines?

We have a line running GSM1 machines and we are considering upgrading to GX-11S machines with FJ3 heads. Does anyone know if the GX-11S machines can take pneumatic feeders from the GSM machines? We have a very large inventory of the pneumatic and ele

Pick and place machine is as good as the feeder is. Electronic fast feeders with precise servomotors will be no match for a pneumatic feeder. Price however, will be different as well.

Genesis should work with pneumatic feeders, but not if Lightning heads are used. It's basically 24V transformer and some wires and fuses - you can do this "upgrade" by yourself, actually. Regarding cal. kit - it's the same as for GSM's but, again, no

I'm considering buying a UIC Advantis P&P machine. I'm worried about the huge, additional cost of new feeders. We've been running GSM's for years so we have tons of GSM vibe bases, tracks and feeders. UIC tells me that old pneumatic GSM feeders ca

GSMs are great machines for many parts, but for the small parts you should look for something better and more contemporary. As it was mentioned in one of the previous posts, the feeder is a big key. I don't think there is feeder for GSM that can supp

24V feeders are very simple to interface. You have supply voltages (24VAC, 12VDC), status output and control input (advance). All signals are using 12V levels. To advance feeder pull control input to GND. Connect status output to +12V with a pull-up

Why are they so > expensive? Feeders are expensive, you can easily have considerably more invested in feeders than the placement machine. On new machines you won't find feeders coming in at much less than $500/each, often considerably more. As a r
