We have a vapor phase machine coming up in auction next week. It is a 2008 R&D vapor phase system. You can view it at http://www.xlineassets.com/auction.asp Let me know if you have any questions. -Todd

Are boards produced using Vapor phase ovens dirtier than N2 Reflow oven. Are there any studies/papers someone can point to? if not what are the methods to verify this? is IPC specified SIR test using 24B SIR test coupons? please advise. thanks in adv

We don't know dip about vapor phase soldering, but we can't help but wonder how well the leads of the component match with the pads on the board.

Chet, We've found the exact opposite. Boards we process in VP are cleaner than convection. Sorry but I cannot provide any meaningful data to back that up though. We conduct SIR testing internally using our high impedance pcba's.

Thanks Larry We are loooking a bigger Vapor > machine which could soldered our big size > borad(600x600 mm)assembled with hundreds of > sockets and thousands of components. How about > IBL products? Anyone used before? You should also look at

In general two step temperature reflow process requires minimum 40 deg C delta to be sucessful. We are not using vapor phase soldering but we have similar situation when we change to SAC lead free solder for PCB component population and secondary swe

Thanks Josh for your kind advice. Yes, we have some contacts of Rehm vapor system. However, we didn't know about cost of galden what you mentioned. It is a good point and has been kept as a note and Electrolytics in Vapor phase, too. Hope you can share

Hi, Yes, I think this sounds like a form of tomb-stoning, and we used vapor phase until it ended up driving us totally nuts trying to deal with tomb-stoning. We tried everything, and all kinds of stencil apertures. Vapor phase is an amazing process
