Does it have to be made out of plastic? Wouldn't some stock aluminum plate with milled out pockets work just as well? Would the aluminum offer the same, better, or worse ESD protection?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jan 11 13:38:40 EST 2005 | dorklover664

I go with hot air. If that isn't possiable than I would say run a test. Reflow one board and see what happens. If it gose bad all the through-hole might have to be taken out. Let us know how it gose. Megan

Storage Conditions for Finished Goods

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 17 17:58:48 EST 2005 | russ

I've been storing some boards in my computers and equipment now for about 17 yrs with many different types of ambient conditions. Everything is still working. Keep finished goods in an ESD bag and dust them off once in awhile.

Or do as we do and use Sharpie pens and document clock numbers right on to the board/panel. But as for the stamps I have used them at a previous place and they seemed to work good but only thing is I can't seem to remember where they got them from.

We have used small hi temp labes, that are placed on our panels, boards before reflow. Each operator has a roll of labels with an assigned number. 4 operators, label 1, 2, 3 and 4. It worked well for us.

I've worked with Siemens, Philips, and Fuji and my vote is for Siemens. The machines are flexible, easy & quick to change over and their support is great.

Lead Free Reflow

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 19 18:24:09 EST 2005 | russ

Make sure that you are running the right leadfree profile. You may want to verify that it is correct with thermocouples. Use Indiums Tacflux023, This should work. As far as cleaning them after this I will have to leave up to you. Russ

We us DL Technology on our 3800. I guess they can ship to Europe. They are less expensive and work better. They have a website; it should be easy to find. John S

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 20 15:19:19 EST 2005 | russ

Every machine I have ever worked with will place at any angle. So I don't see any issue.
