Is anyone using FEEDER FINGERS for small cut tape SMT parts?

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 11 10:20:31 EDT 2019 | capse

I'm a Rep for Yamaha equipment. I have several customers using Feeder Finger with great success. The Yamaha feeder has a design feature that compliments the Feeder Finger.

I have just been engaged again in SMT pick-n-place machines. My latest exposure is with Yamaha YV100 and YM84. I have been having some problem on feeders, especially on 1206 reel packages and above. The plastic cover on the reel does not peel off eas

I think we should shift this issue to the machine suppliers, requesting changes in the machine design, in order to keep at least the jobs of high mix, low volume in this country. We can only compete with low labor cost countries by increasing the lev

Some other machines are a lot simpler. Here's how the Philips (mady by Yamaha) CSM84 works. Smaller tape (8 and 12 mm) feeders are all mechanical. A plunger on the head pushes a lever on the feeder at the same time the head comes down. First, the

The yamaha feeders need leader tape to function - so if you're using cut reel components you'll lose 3 or 4 just on set up alone. Run-time attrition is harder to help with as machine setup and calibration, condition of nozzles/feeders, ability of ope

I assume that you are referring to the same kind of mechanical feeders (older type) that are used on the Philips (Assemblon) Topaz as well. First make sure that the right gear pulley spring is set to its stiffest position (the loop at the end of the

The only time we dealt with "major" loss related to the feeders was when they were out of maintenance. Kept in good shape, sure there's loss; but, I never considered it to be major. But, that is subjective, of course. In the end, in my mind, it

This is a very difficult question to answer as it will depend greatly on your component mix. I will presume that the CSM 84VZ is of the following configuration: 2 x RDC Synchro Heads. Heads 1 & 2. These are mechanically centering heads with a chucki
