APEX 2001 Receives Wide Acclaim From Exhibitors

IPC has received overwhelming praise from IPC SMEMA Council Electronics Assembly Process Exhibition and Conference (APEX) 2001 exhibitors. With more than 12,900 total visitors (attendees and exhibitors), this second-year event saw an increase of more than 20 percent in overall attendance from the 2000 event. The 394 exhibitors filled more than 168,000 net square feet of exhibit space at the San Diego Convention Center.

IPC Issues Statement on NDAA Provisions Aimed at Bringing Resiliency and Security to Supply Chains

Today, IPC issued a blog post in support of the FY 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) provisions that would bolster the resiliency and security of the electronics manufacturing ecosystem, including printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication and printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), the green-and-gold hardwiring at the core of all electronics systems. These provisions, approved in both the U.S. House and Senate, aim to improve the security of electronics purchased by the Defense Department.

Electrical Wire Processing Technology Expo (EWPTE) 2021 Postponed to May 10-12, 2022

The 2021 Electrical Wire Processing Expo (EWPTE) originally scheduled at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wis. for May 11-13, 2021 has been postponed to May 10-12, 2022. As show managersof the 2021 EWPTE,WHMA/IPC and Wisconsin Center Districtstaff met with the newly formed EWPTE exhibitor advisory board. The advisory board comprised of representatives from the following companies: Amphenol CTI, Anixter, Artos, Brady Corporation, Cesar-Scott, DIT-MCO,Dynalab Test Systems, HellermannTyton, IEWC, Komax, Molex, Schleuniger Inc.,Southwire Company, TE Connectivity and Telsonic unanimously made the critical decision to postponethe event due to ongoing concerns with COVID-19.

Nordson ASYMTEK Employees Construct Playground at Homeless Center

Nordson ASYMTEK announced that over 50 employees in Southern California constructed a playground for the children who live at the Solutions for Change Intake and Access Center in Vista, California. During the opening ceremony for the new playground, the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors recognized Nordson for "outstanding service, leadership and commitment to the health, safety and well-being of the region's residents," and presented Joe Stockunas, vice president of Nordson's Advanced Technology Systems, with a proclamation declaring September 17, 2015, as Nordson Day.

Electronics Manufacturing Supports More Than 5.3 Million U.S. Jobs and Almost 4%of U.S. GDP, Says IPC

Electronics manufacturing contributes powerfully to the U.S. economy, according to a new report released by IPC, the global electronics manufacturing industry association. The report finds the electronics manufacturing sector directly supports more than 1.3 million U.S. jobs.For every U.S. electronics manufacturing job,three other jobs are supported in the U.S. economy, contributing to a total of 5.3 million American jobs. Also, the industry indirectly and directly contributes $714 billion (3.7 percent) to U.S. GDP.
