I agree with you PR!! At our factory, we had trouble with 0603's!!!! Especially if you try to glue and wave them...manufacturing management, in turn, blamed the declining yields on the processes, and NOT on the product! ...and with process windows

0201's - Some Assistance enclosed

Yeah, 0201's are real buggers to deal with, as the components are about the same dimensions as the PWB tolerances. Probably a good start is the paper I did with Plexus Corp., available on www.plexus.com, under the "In the News" heading. Headlines: -

Wayne We (Universal Instruments) started demonstrating the placement of 0201 chips at the last Productronica show in Germany. But at this point in time, you will be hard pressed to find anyone using it in production (although the placement equipment

PCB finish - Printhead vs Squeegee

Electronics Forum | Tue Sep 18 13:21:06 EDT 2001 | fcouture

Hello Jeff, I found some good information from what I read until now...so thank you! I have two questions: 1) What finish did you use on the PCB for 0201 ? I think with an aperture so small (12x15mils) tin plated is impossible, what do you think

PROBLEMS WHILE GLUE PRINTING

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 20 16:51:31 EDT 2001 | jschake

Using an enclosed pressurized printhead system will significantly reduce the waste produced compared to printing glue using squeegees. In trying to stay with the 0201 theme here, I will add that printing glue or adhesive for 0201s continues to be a

Glass Plate for machine Calibration

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 20 18:17:56 EDT 2003 | stefwitt

I guess we should differentiate between machine calibration, process reliability measurements and process capability study. For the machine calibration you use the machines own optical cameras, but for cpk or standard deviation you measure the place

Recomendations? Fuji CP7 or Univ HSP4797?

Electronics Forum | Mon May 24 19:37:07 EDT 2004 | marcelll

Hi Grant, you have 2 good machines there. Thing to remember: Fuji machines need an external controller to run (Fuji cam or Flexa), you will have to buy that (extra cost). HSP have is own firmware include. HSP can do pick-up correction both in X and Y

Mike: When you stated that you are looking for a different AOI to replace GSI Lumonics because of 0201 solder paste inspection. Does that mean that you have a 1X scanner and it is not giving you reliable results? Have you tried the 2X scanner from G

I have an application that uses 0201 devices coupled with ceramic column grid arrays. The coplanarity of the balls is specified not to exceed 7 mils! 4 mil foil for 0201's with a selective buildup to 7mil for the ceramic. Bloody designers! Take y
