what are the methods used out there to verify reflow oven performance or machine profiling. What intervals are good practice and is it necessary. We do product pofiles with our profiling equipment and can that be used to base your machine performance

ECD has a product called the OverRIDER for benchmarking and trending oven performance. http://www.ecd.com/emfg/instruments/ovenrider/

I would go for the laminar flow as opposed to N2. The contour nozzle doesn't really work all that well even with N2. I knew I should of asked you if you had a contour, I was thinking laminar flow hence the dynamics input. Russ

I know that this is not really SMT related, but does anyone have any knowledge of any process for removing clear anodizing from aluminum ? I am trying to find a way of removing the anodizing without dissolving any of the aluminum. Thanks

What is "clear anodizing"? Regular anodizing is an aluminum oxide ceramic on the surface of the aluminum. For soup to nuts on removing regular aluminum anodizing, look here: http://www.finishing.com/4800-4999/4884.html

Removing anodize can be done by just about anyone who does anodizing. Check your local metal finishing facilities and speak to someone who will guarantee no loss of material if that is what is important.

we had a project like this once. switched to using "genosolve" chemistry (US source, expensive) in conjunction with a degreaser machine, works fine if you can spend the money.
