After you tried the procedure, what the MCS error indicate? If you try to format the PC, all data stored will be erased.

Hi, Vapor phase is an incredibly process, apart from the tombstoning, that we just could never eliminate. So we had to dump it and go with convection. It's a shame, as the solder joints were incredible! Regards, Grant

Any one has experience over solder voids in oscillator capacitor joint could result in high phase noise during the digital performances test? The noise signal was gone after solder touch up. What could be the root cause of the high phase noise?

Honestly, I inspect the wetting and the solder volume. I leave mechanical testing to the CEO types that pry on components with screwdrivers and tell you it feels weaker than he thinks it should.

When I worked for a med. device company it was always great fun to observe the UL testing. Everyone would gather around the stairwell and say bon voyage to an $8k piece of gear. This was NOT a test of the mechanical strength of soldered connections
