If......... 1) Assuming you are panelizing them (you would have to actually).... 2) You don't have any fine pitch parts on the board then I would suggest a chipshooter like a Fuji CP-6 or a Panasonic MV2F. Get (2) of these used for around $100K ea

Take a look at Assembleon. The AX-5, similar to the older FCM, is ideal for running smaller PCB's and has one, if not the fastest IPC board speeds in the market. Something else to think about is to purchase a line. If this is an option, many equipme

I hate to ask an obvious question, but are you sure all of your thermocouples are attached properly? I just can't imagine a 3X5 board having such a large Delta T unless it has some really odd parts on it. You sound like you know what you're doing,

Yes, All six new (LF ready kit) thermocouples are tested good.I would like to say boards are populated on both side back to back with two heavy PLCC's side by side just like having heatsinks and ground plane. Some Odd design.Next try will be to have a

Hi Brad, Being that I work for a board house here is my take on this issue. In the past it used to be 1 scrap per palt up to 10% of the total order. scrap is supposed to be sepperated to location and packaged sepertaly. Then it turned into No Scra

Vick Russ is very correct. Get the paste material specificatioin. Please get your favorite data logger (ECD, KIC, DatPaq, etc..), attach some TC's and take a profile. This is the ONLY way to know what your reflow system is doing and how to alter.

Vick I would not think what your seeing is normal. Just guessing without a profile but.... - not reaching peak temperature - not enough soak time or mild ramp to burn away the flux - shortened TAL, not allowing proper time for the solder to wet - lo

I would again suggest that you REALLY need to profile that board. It does sound like you're not getting enough heat to that component, but if you just crank up your reflow zone how will you know you're not overheating something smaller unless you b

Anybody ever use SAM to inspect a bare pcb? What can you see? Is the scatter noise so bad you can't even see the copper layers? I would think you could at least see to some depth and then flip the board over. I work in a R&D environment so speed

Set points are unique to each individual oven. You cannot tell anything with the setpoints at the zones. your profile is a soak profile most likely. Suspicious ..... Absolutely! Flux activation is not important and neither is the temp of the boar
