Juan, Try Hamamatsu directly. (908) 231-1116 e-mail: usa@hamamatsu.com Ask for "RE-LOAD" pricing. Make sure you have the tube serial number and model available. Some units cannot be re-used. You will find the serial # on the side of tube housing. J

AOI - Automated Optical Inspection

Terry, I use a VItechnology AOI and I'm very happy with it. I find the software to be very flexible. You will realize how much components vary from one manufacturer to another, so flexibility is important. The Omron machines are good at solder

Dave, Good to hear about VITechnology. Youre right about flexibility to deal with component variation. We have had problems with different batches causing rejects. When you say Omron for solder, do you mean solder paste or reflowed solder joints ?

Zero flux or paste spattering?

Electronics Forum | Mon Jan 12 11:51:15 EST 2004 | Hussman

I don't believe you'll get an exact zero flux with no-clean pastes. Water soluable yes, but I don't see it happening with no-clean; at least not this year. As for spatter, you should be able to control this. Can you define what you call "spatter"?

voids- leaded and chip components

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 23 10:39:35 EST 2004 | patrickbruneel

Kris, I assume with voids you mean acceptable solder coverage of pad and lead. As Dave mentioned I also have not seen any specific studies on voids, but workman ship standards exist about acceptable coverage of pad and lead (both consumer and MIL)

reballing

High temp balls (spheres for you PC types) They are non-eutectic balls. Do you have a reballer or stencil setup? If one device...may not be cost effective, but if many you can usually send back the the IC house for re-ball. There are only a handf

reballing

A small benchtop system uses a mask, tooled for your part, to arrange the solder spheres onto the BGA, after it has had the excess solder heat-vacuumed off and a new layer of flux applied. The spheres are poured into the cavity, excess decanted off.

Reflow oven , From 8 zone to 12 zone

Electronics Forum | Wed Jan 14 03:45:45 EST 2004 | Bryan

Whether could we add some heating or cooling modules to the 8 zone reflow oven and convert the 8 zone to 12 zone or more?I 've never heard of anybody successfully done this.I think, this way, we could get more cost down. What's your opinions? Thanks®a

Reflow oven , From 8 zone to 12 zone

I've never heard of anyone doing this. Even if it were possible I can't believe it would be cost effective. If you absolutely need a 12 zone oven your best bet is to try and be a used/refurbed one if you can't afford a new one.
