Hi all, I work for a service company who do SMT repairs for a Blue Chip. The JEDEC standard doesn't seem to mention how long (if at all) you should bake a planar after placing a new BGA (after field failure). Any ideas? Thanks in advance. regards Joh

JEDEC defines packaging, matrix trays, tape and reel, and like whatnot. You need to be searching ANSI and IPC. Find these documents: * ANSI/J-STD-020, Moisture/Reflow Sensitivity Classification for Plastic Integrated Circuit Surface Mount Devices *

I would like to bring a Vtek Versacount II SMD counter on line but it is missing the tape guide. Can anyone give me some dimensions so I can have a new one fabricated. VTEK has been no help at all. I am mostly interested in the tape guide groove. I n

Yes, appropriate storage & component handling proceedures should be followed depending on the MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) class of the component. Some component suppliers are now marking the MSL class on the label, along with PBT (Peak Body

Hi Russ, Can you please clarify on what you mean by "after wash they should be gone since it is water soluble,".....the flux would be water soluble or otherwise, how does that relate to solder balls being removed by cleaning?...i can see them being r

Chunks is a pretty with-it dude. The only additional thought I have is the possibility of poor misprint cleaning. If they're wiping instead of spray or US washing they may be contaminating the boards prior to reprinting. And yes, I know Chunks is

Hello, we are currently running no clean flux on our Jade model pillarhouse selective solder machine and i would like to switch the flux over to Water Soluable. Are there any concerens with running water soluable on these machines? I have heard tha

Any materials that come in contact with the flux should be made from stainless steel, titanium, or plastics. These materials will not corrode from OA fluxes. Overspray is an issue. I think Pillerhouse has that jet fluxer, so I dont think there is mu

I would imagine your system is either stainless and/or some form of plastic. The water can rust but I doubt your machine has any metal that would be affected by it. You may want to double check your spray cell as well. We have been running water s
