tape and reel machine

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 24 15:20:27 EST 2000 | Chris McDonald

I have recently purchased a Tape and reel machine from V-Tech. We are using Presure Sensitive tape and we are not geting good results. Anything bigger that a SOIC14/16 gives us trouble. The cover tape will pull off on the feeder and we will lose part

I used to work with Chris. (neither of us are there anymore). What is he talking about is putting components into "pockets". The parts would come in, in sticks (tubes) but we wanted them in reels. At first we sent them out to be reeled, but that w

Paste Tack Time

guys Using a well estrablished water soluble solder paste, but having problems with tack time. Data sheet recommend a couple of hours but we are seeing problems after about 15 minutes with 0402/0603 componenets bouncing off. The printer environment

Re: Fluxes

Thanks guys. We are currently using an Opti Flux fixed spray head at 10 to 20 psi. We were using the 351 flux at 60 psi before this, so as you can see we found that there's a huge difference here. We are currently running a conveyor speed at 5.0 FPM.

Land Pattern Design for PLCC's, QFP's etc... in Full Radius Corners

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 20 20:22:47 EST 2000 | Dreamsniper

We used to have our PLCC,s, TSOP's and QFP's (0.65 mm pitch) Land Patterns designed in square corners. Some of our products have them designed in Full Radius Corners. As of now, with the two different designs running in our production floor, we can't

Full radius corners on pads can help with solder paste release in the stencil. The radius shape minimizes the surface area in the wall of the stencil aperture as compared to a sharp corners. When the stencil is seperating from the pcb the solder pa

Liquid, Dispensable Solder Mask

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 20 15:48:52 EST 2000 | Shane Lay

We are planning on converting to a no-clean soldering chemistry and will need to replace our water soluble liquid solder mask as a result. Does anyone know of a dispensable, "peelable" solder mask I can evaluate? It would be nice to find one that i

Dave, Thank you for the information. We will be conducting several tests in the near future that will evaluate the corrosion/contamination response as it is our primary concern once we remove our aqueous processes. We are well aware of the effects

Long time, no see Doc. If you want to use an SOJ algorithm you can probably get away with manipulating the height of the part to get the lighting to refract in the areas you need to. Beware of parts parachuting if you adjust to much, although you sho
