Component replenishment

cap and resistor Parts are cheap! $10 vs. $20 or so? If you are worried about inventory cost than only buy your top 10 or so runners in the large reels. I am a big fan of large reels for the high running caps and Resistors.

Resitance testing equipment

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 11 09:10:39 EST 2005 | davef

Welcome to the forum. Yes, there is a wide range of equipment types that can be used to measure the function of components after the board is assembled. Look here for test: http://circuitsassembly.com/bguide/

Resistance testing equipment

Yes, that I know. But we have been asked to test the component when it comes out of production, before it would be taped. any clues? Regards, Daniel Peeters

Reflowing <.032

I am working on fixturing to keep the pcb/panel from "floating" in the oven. The problem is cold solder/non-wetting on all components. My thoughts lean towards the thin pcb not retaining the "preheat temps" for proper soak/reflow. Any thoughts about

Handskin reaction!!

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 22 16:52:32 EST 2005 | caldon

Latex sensitivity is HUge. Try changing to vynal gloves. Also keeping the hands moist is a good idea. ESD Hand cream is an option. Just becareful when using the hand cream as it may transfer to boards, stencils, components......

Fine pitch & PCB finish

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 21 11:34:28 EST 2005 | davef

Assembling boards with 12 pitch are very difficult to control. We like flat surfaces on boards with components below 25 pitch.

Solder Pots

Electronics Forum | Tue Feb 22 12:12:01 EST 2005 | jimby

We are looking at replacing some solder pots (wave type)for pretinning components. What type are people out there using?

electrically conductive adhesives

Electronics Forum | Thu Feb 24 08:29:01 EST 2005 | davef

We have done some work with conductive adhesives. The main lesson is: They do not adhere well to solder. * For components, a silver-palladium or gold end termination is recommended. * For substrates, gold over nickel should work well.

Nozzle life?

We're using 10MPF nozzles to pick 0603 components. I think I have noticed, that it does overlap. Is 08MPF the proper nozzle? These are also the only nozzles that I've had problems with - so this is probably the case.

Nozzle life?

Thanks for the reply. Like I just posted to the other replier, this is only a problem with 10MPF nozzles picking 0603 components off 8x4mm feeders. Feeders are all taught properly, and pick position is usually off by
