You are correct...These are proprietary codes. Your best bet is to stick to the UCT-31. Other folks have tried to create a tool of their own, but have had little success. Universal Instruments offers component library conversion tools as well as patt

Jonathan, we do that all day. We do not use different pastes nor do we glue components nor do we run different profiles. Depends on what is meant by "small components". In our case its all that "bird seed" up to SO8. That will work for more parts.

Does anyone have experience with the zsct1555 timer chip made by Zetex? I can't seem to get it to oscillate properly. My values for vcc and components are as follows: Vcc=1.5v Ra=220 ohm Rb=3200 ohm Ct=100uf OR..... If you know of any other chips

I have used Multicore MP-100 and Heraeus F380 pastes for a while, and experienced very few dry joint problems. May be worth checking if the pad size and/or spacing are to the correct specification for the components. Check the date codes on the comp

You're correct. There's a range of issues. Two perspectives are: * TI and other suppliers has been shipping lead-free solderability protected leads on components for years. We have discussed, here on SMTnet, a need to adjust the reflow profile to

Some earlier machines with mechanical component alignment could be bought with electrical test options ( Mydata, Siemens o.a.). This is, to my knowledge, the only method to identify chip components prior placement. The downside was a high reject rat
