Craig, If you have a Juki KE-750/760, or the newer KE-2000s, it will support 8 characters for the designator. The older models only support 5 characters. If you have a KE-750 and/or a KE-760 and you can only enter 5 chars, then call you local Juki

Hello All, I need some help here. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to get SMT component design requirements? What I'm looking for specifically is how the component leads would come off the components to make contact with the SMT pad

BGA placement on PGA

Converting BGA to PGA. Yes!!! Wouldn't want progess in packaging design to slow us down, would we? [Haaaaa. Just kidding. Probably has something to do with legacy designs; form, fit and function; and all that stuff.] Tacky flux only, like a rew

I am not sure what parts you are inserting, i.e. radial, axial. The first thing I would do is to make sure the design can be automated. There are design guidelines from Universal and others that are good in determining if the parts can be placed and

Ceramic capacitors cracking

Brad, This is a common problem and may relate to the design of the board. In all cases when a device such as a capacitor is place near the edge of the board and the board must be de-panelled, the capacitor must be parallel to the break line. If the

Does anyone know of any free software that would allow an inspector to look for a reference designator on a densely-populated PCB? The software would need to accept a CAD pick'n'place file as input, and highlight the part when the inspector enters t
