Batch Ovens

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 02 17:49:07 EST 2005 | grantp

Hi, We used a batch oven from Reddish Electronics out of the UK. It was convection, and ok, but had limitations. Batch convection ovens start to heat up, so the metal of the oven is hotter and hotter and it effects the profile. So we ended up need

Reflow profile verification ??!!!

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 13 06:43:20 EST 2006 | cyber_wolf

How would you like to have this guy evaluate your reflow profile? It was in response to an auditor who require someone they had monitor temperature in both Fahrenheit and Celcius. What a geek Don't put him on the spot. That is not a good thing to

Solder Saver ??

Yes, that is the unit I have tried (or as you say, a convincing copy). Sorry aj, some months ago on this thread you asked where I was based and the answer is Nottingham, England. I only check this site once every few months and it has been a busy

Juki vs Mydata... again...

Electronics Forum | Wed May 03 11:33:11 EDT 2006 | Cmiller

If you want to be able to put down every type of part, and fast, you better look at buying two machines. You did not say how much speed you need but in-line spindle machines rely on gang picks to be able to come anywhere close to rated speed. I have

Very Low Volume BGA Assembly

Electronics Forum | Tue May 23 17:49:07 EDT 2006 | flipit

Hi, Ok I have some numbers for you on my process. For the last 2 years we have been placing 4 BGA on a 2" X 5" X 0.062" PCB. The BGAs are 16X16 256 ball, 15X11 165 ball, 8X8 64 ball, and 26X26 456 ball. The 8X8 is 0.8mm pitch and the others are 1

Unfortunately it's not what you know, but who you know. Sounds like it in your case. Tread lightly as this guy may become your boss. It happened to me. New guy comes in, couldn't tell the "red stuff" from the "gray stuff" (adhesive / paste in cas

AOI: Agilent vs. Omron vs. MIRTec/YESTech?

Electronics Forum | Sat Dec 09 09:51:14 EST 2006 | pvasquez

Hello Lou, As a high-mix low-to-mid volume manufacturer, you will need to concentrate on equipment that may be progammed very easily, with very quick debug time from assembly to assembly. I have worked with Agilent in the past, and one of my collea

Yield on 0402 SMT Printed Circuit Board Assemblies

Electronics Forum | Fri Jan 05 12:17:31 EST 2007 | Cmiller

Our first pass yield across all our products is above 95% but we include anything that does not meet IPC standards. Probably 75% of our failures are not electrical. AOI is a great tool to get a consistent measure of your process. I dont know how anyo

Solder reflow temperatures too high

Electronics Forum | Sun Jan 14 12:42:35 EST 2007 | SMTRework

I think the main cause of this condition is #3 because both #1 and #2 never change from board to board, these are identical boards with identical BGA revisions. These BGA's (as stated before) are about 3 years old.. I don't believe they are lead free
