0.4 mm Pitch BGA stencil design

Electronics Forum | Mon Nov 01 10:29:13 EDT 2010 | scottp

I've searched the archives and maybe my search skills aren't up to snuff but I couldn't find much. I'm curious what people are doing for 0.4 mm pitch BGAs, assuming a type 4 paste. Pad diameter? SMD or NSMD? Stencil thickness? Aperture diameter? Us

Heat transfer properties of encapsulate potting material.

Electronics Forum | Tue Dec 28 03:59:06 EST 2010 | riscy00

I'm investigating heat transfer by 1st order approximation between PCB and ambient air via encapsulate material (epoxy or gel or silicone), they have thermal conductivity of 0.2W/C but it hard to find specific heat capacity and density. Has anyone

Patented Leadless, Fluxless Solder Alloy join different material

Electronics Forum | Thu Jan 20 00:22:07 EST 2011 | yangloh

Dear Industry experts, We have just developed a leadless, fluxless solder that can join various metals ) Al, Cu, brass, Steel, stainless and Titanium) and Ceramics ( Ruby, Quartz, Sapphires, glass, TiO2, etc) We intend to explore electronics and

CSM-84 pick and place machine.

Electronics Forum | Fri Feb 11 17:02:57 EST 2011 | gabriel1blue

Hello, I have a CSM-84 pick and place machine, and every time a make a programm the location where the part get place is way different from the location on the program which tell me that the offset's are way off, but when I try to calibrate the mach

low cost SMT line

I am going to disagree with that. Our QP242 wasn't worth a crap when it came to reliably placing BGA's. The lighting parameters and the programming will have you tearing your hair out. If you are doing outline recognition on small BGA's...then maybe.

Solder Paste not dry after Wave

Electronics Forum | Wed Feb 23 12:42:28 EST 2011 | davef

If we understand correctly, your SMT solder connections remelt when passing through the wave solder machine and your QA-people don't like it when that happens. It's nice not to remelt this solder, but as long as the board meets your acceptance stand

Best Lead Free Solder to use

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 01 15:13:22 EST 2011 | felixgutierrez

Hi Everyone. I would like your input in regards to lead free solder paste lead free. Which one is the most reliable solder for BGA's and BTC's (QFN). I have used different type of solder and on some of them i get big voids on BTC's and other one i g

solder splatters

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 22 11:20:56 EDT 2011 | jercole

NEED HELP!!! I am getting solder splatters on my panels. We produce 100's of different kinds of product and this is the only one that is leaving solder splatters all over the masking. It is however the first time we have used 40 pin QFN's. I don't th

Solder beading with PCB from different fab

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 01 02:56:18 EDT 2011 | grahamcooper22

the cause could be moisture in your pcbs. To check it...pass some bare pcbs through your reflow oven (this is a simple way of drying them out a bit), then paste and place and reflow as normal....if solder beads disappear then the pcbs have too much m

DAGE XRAY

Electronics Forum | Tue Apr 05 14:42:41 EDT 2011 | clampron

Bigvern, We have had the same problem on two different occasions. Both issues were caused by the vacuum sensor. The first time this happened, we had a tech from Dage in to repair. This was fairly costly. When it happened again, we opened the cabinet
