The angle is a standard Soltec 7deg. We don't have the tools to measure this accuratly, but I do trust Soltec on this.

Great as most Lead Free machines have the wrong angle on them 7 degrees is correct. So you are still exiting the wave in the middle of the pot then.

We have an ac30l advantis machine with a lighting head for about a year now we place a lot of 0603 parts some from vishay we are not seeing this problem yet

Its mainly on the heavy hitters when the head is sitting over the feeder (Gold) and doing some multiple picks. Again this only seems to happen near the end of a reel. If we splice the reel is it picks perfectly directly after the splice.

I had similar problems with some Chinese 0805 capacitors. Some parts simply won't get out of the paper tape - like they sticked to the bottom paper tape... It happened on two reels, the rest was OK, so I suppose that was some "glitch" on their side..
