I've had experienced this issues here with our GSM's Flex heads. Try this: 1.- Clean your linear scales with alcohol and a lint free cloth. Both the X and Y. This one has fixed the majority of our errors when one of the heads just stops for no apare

I've not seen it on a solder joint, but I've seen it on an SMT pad that had been skipped in a wave solder operation. The boards were under inspection for poor solderability. We never really pinpointed the cause. It would make a perfect 6 pointed s

CL pretty much hit the nail on the head. But also remember that solder paste will not go "bad" if not kept cool. It is not a fruit or perishable item (sorry guys, it's not). It's just metal and flux. The only reason they want you to keep it cool

Hi Stephen, Q2) As per my understanding, no solder paste supplier or any organisation provide Mixing standard or ratio as it is not recommanded. However, I do know that some company, they allow mixing of old and new solder paste (as solder paste is

Well, I do know that different solder pastes have different lives. Sh@t, some solder pastes change characteristics from lot to lot. That's why we always restest solder pastes from different lots when doing an evaluation. Some of it has to do with

Well I am a CM, it has to be that OSP finsh!!! hahahaha seriously I hate that finish. but this is big BGA and there could be a multitude of issues as you suggested. Do not assume that the boards were 100% tested for all vias and lines unless yuou

Sorry that answer never really gave you the reason and ways to resolve. Reason - most composite pallets are only good up to 180C so thermal excursions at 250 or even 270c lead free kill them. Try to stay on top of cleaning as well and some pallet mat

You guys are all joking right?! There aren't any contaminates in your solder, the different colors on the surface are completely normal and even expected. The top layer of solder oxidizes and the structure of the surface resembles crystals, refract

Questions are: * Does the component take solder when you dip it in the solder pot to test the solderability of the leads? * Can you get full barrel fill when wave soldering a bare board? * Is your flux reaching the top of the board through the hole b

So others can solder the same board and part but you can't. Dipping the legs in flux doesn't help. Then it's either your pre-heat or wave. Measure your pre-heat and compare to others or flux mfger. Do you have chip wave or something like an Omega
