COB Costing

Electronics Forum | Wed Aug 17 21:58:35 EDT 2005 | plcc

Does anyone familiar with COB process? I hv a PCBA product with one of the photodiode (size 26mmx1mm) which needs to be bonded directly on the pcb using COB technology. The wires that need to be bonded are 2, goldwires for about 100microAmp current.

Cycle Time Estimates

Hi AJ, Depends on what machines you are running, how you run them, and if you have the spare components on feeders lined up ready to go. On a volume job using CP's using both feeder banks on change over I'd be upset if they stopped for more than a

Tip life of soldering irons with lead-free (SAC305)

Electronics Forum | Tue May 02 12:07:26 EDT 2006 | Sheldon Stewart (Process Engineer)

I am curious if everyone else is seeing the same dramatically reduced tip life with lead-free that I am? We have purchased new irones with controlled temperatures up to 800F. We are doing more hand soldering on our lead-free at the present while wait

Time to Setup a New Assembly Line

Electronics Forum | Thu Aug 17 23:24:34 EDT 2006 | guest

I suggest you do the ff prior the machines arrival at your site. - Get all the dimensions of purchased machines from their catalogue. - Lay out / draw their footprints in the manufacturing floor. - Drop down air and power supply. Unpacking, level

Small CMs, how do you charge for this stuff (if at all)?

Electronics Forum | Thu May 29 14:43:58 EDT 2008 | rgduval

We charge a flat rate that covers Programming, Documentation, and Engineering fees. We arrived at the number by estimating an average time spent on these activities over a period of about a year. I lifted this method from a company that I used to w

Question about Cost

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 06 14:44:07 EDT 2012 | joefosho

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and registered to ask a question about PCB assembly cost. I was hoping to design a PCB that will be approximately 6" by 6" with about 1100 0805 SMD components on it. Half of them being resistors (3 different values) a

YesTech F1 speed

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 19 10:19:01 EDT 2013 | rway

We have inline reworkers, so this time has been factored in. We currently use Siemens S25/20 machines with M1 systems. The placement machines run a little slower than the AOI at times so there is time to perform review, most of the time. It's not

X-Ray, inspection voltage, voltage blooming

Hello, I am trying to estimate hole filling after PiH process using phoenix x|aminer X-Ray Machine. The question is how to select correct inspection voltage? Inspecting at 60kV 40uA all PiH holes appear to be completely black, that means completely

Typical placement speeds - please advise

Electronics Forum | Sat Jun 28 07:19:32 EDT 2014 | sramos

Based on your knowledge and experience, could you tell me about speed differences when placing a mix of SMD at mass production? We could consider packages like the small R & C chips, then SOD323, SOT-23, SOT-23-5, SOT23-6, SON6, QFN8, SOIC-8, SOIC-16

Seems like you've got it about right....though, it's a rather complex equation. Loaded labor cost is only a part of it, if you're trying to estimate down to the last cent. You have to account for energy utilization, space utilization in the factory
