"better gasketing, less dog-earing" I suppose gasketing could contribute but my assumption is that it's a function of better shearing action between the blade edge and the aperture wall. You get a more consistent shape on the top of the paste deposi

is there a required storage room temperature for core (toridal and e-core. we are experiencing a rejection on inductance reading of our units, but when we checked the number of turns of transformer and the AL value of e-core it all passed to its requ

Q: Is anyone aware of any solderability issues that may exist when soldering beryllium copper parts (in this case spring contacts) to a PCB using standard Pb63/Sn37 solder paste/wire?

BeCu is not solderable without plating Cu, Sn, Ag, Ni etc. The solder joint will only be as strong as the bond strength of the solderable plating to the BeCu Pat

Thanks for your help. We took a copy of the complete hard drive (ghost) in August last year when it was operating correctly. We have replaced this hard drive with ghost, but have the same problem. So we think it must be a hardware problem.

The PILZ card, which is in the AC chassis, governs the safety circuit. Check for 24VAC going into the PILZ and 24VDC coming out.

Board House Pcb Question

Brad We agree with Rob. Even if the fab marks the fids [on both sides] to reduce component attrition, you'd be surprised in the amount of paste that 'disappears' on x-out boards. Do the numbers [follow the money].

Best way to judge how good a profile is by measuring it. It is not real accurate to determine by the amount of residue left. You should be able to tell if the lead is bent causing the open.

The lead was inspected for coplanarity and it's within the specification it's designed for and doesn't show any variation in terms of height as compared to it's adjacent lead that has good wetting

Thanks for the input. Just one question. Is what i am seeing normal? I am refering to the flux being between the lead and molten paste after the reflow process. This only found on a non-wetting lead.
