Hi All, Looking for opinions from people on having conveyers between machines on a SM line. Im of the opinion that stand alone conveyers should be kept to a minimum. As an example of a SM line I have a Printer, SPI, 3 P&P machines, AOI, and a reflow

It's difficult to tell anything from your picture. But playing the odds, I'd say it's not "gold corrosion." It is very difficult to corrode gold. Gold is a NOBLE metal. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia In chemistry, the noble metals are metals

Wondering how many out there have upgraded their AOI systems to 3D technology? For those that have here are some questions I have: 1.) What system were you using previously? 2.) What systems did you evaluate in your process of selecting a new syst

Maybe your CMOS battery is dead! On some of these old system once the battery is drained the CMOS settings are lost, this would include the correct setting for detecting the hard drive and I doubt there is an auto detect . Try turning on the machine

I agree. Trim the leads before insertion, then raise the pot height. With the information given, this is most likely your solution. Our machine has a dam wall on the rear of the solder pot that raises the height on the solder pool. I would make sure

Hi Zac, My 2 cents: We had similar problems on a board in the same situation (tin-lead HASL, very long leads, low pot height, high pump RPM). Trimming the leads shorter, moving the pot closer to the board, and dropping the pump speed down to sane

Thanks for the suggestions, Caurbach. We do have the occasional lead jumping out even at this length, hence why we've been hesitant to cut them shorter. I have the wave nozzle to PCB distance set as per the machine instructions (4mm I think?). I ce
