Thanks Jerry. It's entirely possible that the parts that were originally kitted were Yageo so we at least have some chance of things being "as they should" on the bulk of them. Those also test out at 10.00 so we're not too concerned about them. The o

Sorry, Jerry, I was just too lazy to include the k, as in 10.00k ohms. I don't have a meter that will read out to 3 places, so something like 10.014 would read at the upper limit of 10.01. Same problem exists at the lower end, obviously.

I would get yourself a better meeter. All resistors are sorted as far as I know so if you had a good meter you could just grab a reel of 5% parts and sort them your self. I have seen the markings both ways so I would not immediatly assume the parts w

Darby, these are "point one percenters", and are all/both white on black. I think it's a manufacturer's prerogative as to how they're marked (not really a standard, but a convention) so who knows. As far as getting a better meter, I'm still waiting

Does anyone know of a source for better documentation for the laser align settings? I managed to get a 1206 ceramic capacitor to measure and was working on a 1206 resistor and couldn't get it to succeed. I retried the cap and it failed again and ag

Hi Larry, me again. Painting the tip should do diddly because you are using laser. Your cap is probably passing because it's thicker and is just inside the range of the system set-up. Check and calibrate your nozzle alignment height settings. Input t

Apply the bare minumum amount of VOC free typically 50% less than alcohol fluxes. By doing this you can keep the same top board temperature as alcohol, its only when people over flux do you need to boost up the preheater to volatise of the water. NEV
