Share info for Six sigma - BB

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 02 09:50:04 EST 2001 | stefwitt

Dave, I did assume Angela meant components ready for pick up. It would be too time consuming for any machine to measure the component availability prior to pick up. If we assume that the feeder advances in a rate of six sigma ( 3 defects per mio ) t

Stefan: I'm with you. I know that the Siplace machines do that vacuum and visual component check that you describe. I just wasn't sure how the HS50 verifies picks. Same way? So often with things like this six sigma stuff, the definition of the pr

Solder balls on solder side!!

If we were talking about a single board problem, wed be thinking about the laminate, but since you imply the problem is broad-based across multiple assemblies, consider the following machine parameters: * Crank-up preheat time / temperature to driv

White powdery residue following Wave

Electronics Forum | Fri Mar 02 15:44:26 EST 2001 | traviss

Is this after wave or wash? Its too bad the archives are gone this one has come up a bunch of times. Most of the time its caused by rosen or no clean flux being put through a water wash. There are several other possibilities. You will probably hear w

MPA-V or IIIF Users?

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 05 10:17:35 EST 2001 | pteerink

We are using an MPAG3 ( similar to MPA-V) in conjunction with a MVIIV. Machines were installed last December. Both machines are very reliable ( avg placement rates over 99% on both machines ). We use Panapro to program, overall it works well, but lik

MPA-V or IIIF Users?

Electronics Forum | Tue Mar 13 02:18:07 EST 2001 | JT

Biggest problem with the IIF is placing components with varying thickness (i.e. multpile vendors). We have to adjust production programs at start of each run to prevent excess scrap. Line Sensor tolerances can be adjusted to accept a wider range of

60 Deg or 45 Deg Blades

You're correct 45 is preferred. 5 Paste sticking to squeegee: * Squeegee is heavily magnetized * Some pastes stick more than ... * Plastic squeegees stick more than metal * Old metal squeegees stick more than new * Paste needs to be worke

60 Deg or 45 Deg Blades

Electronics Forum | Thu Mar 15 09:30:01 EST 2001 | keith47611

We've actually seen best results with 60 degree blades (as measured from stencil surface to face of blade), and paste sticking has not been a problem since we switched to a higher quality metal blade. More expensive than the OEM stuff but worth it.

We had a similar issue with one of our products and ended up redesigning the whole PCB to fit the new parts. It may be little more costly up front than your solution, but should should have a much lower impact on quality and process and cost much le

We have had a similar issues with some of our boards , However I took a different approach to the solution that I thought I would mention. There is a company Called Additive Services Inc. 603-889-1999. They have developed a process to screen lands an
