Mycronic vs. Juki: Your Opinions?

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 20 22:08:07 EDT 2023 | saucyshawn

Mycronic is very expensive. But it does have a lot of good options and feeder count. JUKI I have always found to be limited to number of feeders and flexibility of individual machines. If you are upgrading from MannCorp there may be better options

Selective Solder Nozzle Life

Electronics Forum | Mon May 15 18:31:28 EDT 2023 | daniel_stanphill

I have found Superior No. 75 to be an absolute miracle worker when it comes to nozzle maintenance. I let our worst nozzles soak in that over the weekend and then the majority of the dross would literally flake off with light pressure from a pick/scre

Reflow oven profiles

Electronics Forum | Thu Nov 30 16:18:28 EST 2023 | proceng1

We have a customer that at one point had a dozen LED boards that were all very similar in size. They used Aluminum boards and I found that the difference in thermal mass between the assemblies was negligible considering the largest difference was ac

Electronics Forum | Mon Apr 08 17:27:36 EDT 2024 | kingkelvin

I found a 0.9mm hex tool - but if I adjust the indicators "all the way up" on the shaft I get all current ranges at 255 (so obviously too high on the shaft) but if I place it anywhere else on the shaft (slightly down from top, or all the way down as

Solder Pot Temperature

Electronics Forum | Mon Feb 05 06:57:52 EST 2001 | PeteC

Dason, IPC/EIA J-STD-001C states: "....temperature within the range of 230C (446F) to 290C (554C)." That's a pretty wide process range. 250C has been typical in the past. We run ours from 230C to 240C. We have found that some single-sided PCBs can de

Adhesive Application by Stencil

RW, I have Screened Adhesive on to several different assemblies and have found that when it is possible I get a much better result than with a dot deposition process (The green strength was greatly improved), the biggest issue I ran in to was the pr

Solder paste height and metal squeegees

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 20 08:41:56 EDT 2001 | jimlew

For those of you out there, like myself who are still using 2-d to measure paste ht, I have 2 questions. 1. Typically, what tolerance are you applying to your ht? +- 1 mil, or what? 2. Are you using metal squeegees, and if so, have you found that squ

Re: Solder Balling Beading Effect

Electronics Forum | Thu Dec 16 06:59:43 EST 1999 | Christopher Lampron

Calvin, We have found several reasons for solder beading occurance. We have found that solder balling is usually directly attributed to the reflow profile while solder beading is usually (but not always) a result of either excessive solder paste volu

Re: Cylindrical diodes Missing during SMT process.

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 24 05:11:32 EDT 1999 | George Verboven

| | Hello everyone, | | We found many cylindrical diodes missing during SMT process. Could someone tell us how to prevent this problem? Is it effective to change the shape of stencil apture or reduce fan speed in reflow oven? Thanks in advance. | |

Strange problem with my dispenser

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 10 15:56:30 EDT 1999 | Jason Gregory

Has anyone ever heard of this? I have a Camalot System 5000 and we were in a pinch to produce some prototype boards. We needed Sn62Pb36Ag2-no clean in a dispensing mesh. All I could get my hands on was some Interflux paste in a jar. The formulation i
