Depanelling scoring groove PCBs

We have several, the one everyone likes is a Fancort VPD5-330. We were having trouble with cracked ceramics near the score line with our pizza cutter style depaneler. The linear blade made it go away entirely. Not the cheapest, though.

PoP parts

The top PoP part is what gets dip fluxed or dip pasted. We have had warping issues with these components before but it is almost always the top part. My guess would be bad components if your reflow profile and print process is good to go.

Thank you all for the posts. From all I read lately I will probably try a different solder paste and if that doesn't work I will go for a flux feeder. I will keep you posted.

Cleaning old built up flux residues from reflow oven

I use Simple Green, works pretty well, although I use the concentrate and don't dilute it as is recommended, so it's pretty strong. I am going to try the sugar water though. I'm intrigued.

@JimmyB You have right, I'm not from Chicago - I didn't go to overseas yet. @All Thanks guys for your help but I haven't the right password. I think I need to remove and reinstall the OIS. That's the only one solution to solve my problem.

solder paste(SnPbAg)

Electronics Forum | Mon Aug 04 15:46:05 EDT 2014 | dyoungquist

What do you mean by "airborne"? We have been using SnPbAg for 15+ years to build assemblies to IPC class II standards although with most assemblies going to Pb free, we are not using it near as much as we used to.

Thank you for your reply. Are you sure that it should really work as drawn? Or the mirrored ray( blue colour) will go differently because there is a total internal reflection? And the correct path of the mirrored blue ray is like that green ray?

Moisture Sensitive Solutions

Electronics Forum | Thu Sep 25 04:46:41 EDT 2014 | arifa_anees

you should go for a dry box it would prevent the sensitive component. Though Moisture sensitive devices are packaged in a moisture barrier antistatic bag with a desiccant and a moisture indicator card which is sealed which could help you.
