Can anyone give me a manufacturer name for a good quality illuminated SMT inspection magnifier. We use 3 diopter. I have tried many many different brands. They all seem to fall apart.

We are considering the purchase of equipment that would allow us to inspect beneath various components such as BGA's. Does anyone have any thoughts, good or bad, on the offerings of equipment currently out there on the market?

Thanks for your input Cal! It is very helpful. The PCB's that I work on also have large ground planes. I was wondering if the Zephytronics could handle it. It is also good to know that they have a money back guarantee.

Make sure that your mesh conveyor drive chain is not jumping a sprocket tooth. This will cause the conveyor to "pop" and you will have skewed parts. I seriously doubt that it is your profile causing skew. It is more than likely something mechanical.

I ahve been using Pentalogix ViewMaster PLUS. Cost about $1k. It's a little tough to use but does a pretty good job for the price.
