White residue inside the reflow oven

Electronics Forum | Thu Apr 13 12:52:49 EDT 2006 | amol_kane

lint from what?...also roughly how often do you clean the oven? (not the heated chamber) but other areas to keep them clean? The operator say he has had to do it twice in 2 weeks to keep it clean due to the residue

discolored pbfree finish after bake and/or reflow

Electronics Forum | Fri Apr 21 09:03:59 EDT 2006 | choppy

I guess the first thing to look at is the temperature. We had to heat more for QFP256 on sample boards and we saw discoloration on some small parts. Just try to sense around when profiling to see what's there.

Topside Heat on Board

Electronics Forum | Tue May 30 09:52:46 EDT 2006 | patrickbruneel

Temp stickers work fine but a temp profiler gives you more useful data. The topside temp depends on the type of flux you use Look at the flux spec sheet or ask your flux supplier. Patrick

BGA Underfill Rework

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 07 07:53:24 EDT 2006 | RLM

This is true but even the so called reworkable underfill takes a lot of effort. We use a loctite reworkable that requires heat to soften the underfill. Once the component is removed we use acetone and a swab to scrub the pcb clean. This can be very t

Problems with SN100C in a Soltec Delta C Wave

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 09 21:53:07 EDT 2006 | Professor Besserwisser Dr Dr PhD

I am sorry, but I hope No hard feelings? :) As for an answer to Your question: No I can not see the reason for using three heat zones on the wave. Anybody else?

Need help for setting up an assembly line

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 20 17:19:43 EDT 2006 | chrisgriffin

Yeah, and I would love to see a data sheet on the great Bahodium solder and the "Advanced Heat Radiation and Gasification". I'll stick with my so-called "reflow" process.

Solder beads and wave soldering

Electronics Forum | Mon Jul 10 07:46:51 EDT 2006 | ronalds

You are right, RSS profile is not the correct description. I am using a profile which heats up quickly to let the flux spread. Next linear up to activate the flux and prevent thermoshock. My experience is however, that small changes in this profile

SACX vs. SN100C

Electronics Forum | Fri Jul 21 16:34:56 EDT 2006 | kris

and also that most connector/PTH component vendors test their components with immersion temperatures of around 260 degc & they do not preheat the components, so it does not mimic the heat in a typical wave soldering operation

reflow CPU Socket Open Joint boards again

Electronics Forum | Wed Jul 26 18:33:25 EDT 2006 | russ

i would say that if you are doing localized heating than you will be okay, A socket is just a socket and cannot be degraded electrically anyway. Russ

Can you wave solder this part

Electronics Forum | Tue Aug 22 12:44:28 EDT 2006 | russ

Cannot be done, no way to solder the heat pad underneath center. P.S. Rob also spells color wrong!!! must have been a real bad school!! How does the wave master do it? Russ
