Dave, the zero-defect is impossible through my understand in a high volume or proto run manufacturing. Base on theory i have read, yes of course it should be. but practical side of view, it is impossible. you are talking about plenty of variable to

sin: You're correct, there is no defect reduction program that's perfect, in fact nothing is perfect!!!! That's why people talk about 6 sigma and not 20 sigma!!!! If you had a perfectly controlled process, you'd still have defects due to random va

Selective Soldering expected PPM levels

Electronics Forum | Wed Nov 24 08:44:00 EST 1999 | Chris Jackson

I have a PCB that I am looking to do selective soldering. I am looking at several systems (IE Seho, Pillarhouse, Premier Tool Works, wave pallets). The board is mixed SMT/PTH, but only has SMT on topside. It has 4 PTH(2 leads ea)components (.030 lea

Are these blades coated with something like PTFE (teflon)? If so does the coating flake off over time. Incidently I just got a pice quote and they are 4.5X that of our standard MPM nickel plated spring steel, so I wanted to make sure they would last

Curtis, They have a 'permalex' coating bonded to the metal. We see no signs of flaking. They are pricey but they do work, we had metal blades from the OEM, they were absolute trash (not MPM). We run 16-6 and they last at least 4 to six months in

Sam, Cyber Optics inline paste measurement machine is probably the easiest to program, maintain, and operate but it does have some drawbacks in my opinion. It is slower than some other machines on the market. This might not be a problem unless

Thank you for the info but when I say anchor I am asking if it uses only one ball (pin one). I believe you are saying it uses a predefined number from every corner to map out the part according to the description given inside the GF. If this is true,

Hi Wade As Steve says - are you sure that the lead is in solution? Particulate lead like solder balls is much easier to remove. The answers are going to depend on total output in gallons, maximum flow required and what has to be removed. If you're
