I know one OEM in Pitt-PA looking for a good Mfg.Eng. They told me they've been advertizing the job for months. They tell me they've recieved a good quantity of applicants but the quality was low.

Hi Good Hunting CAL, Is there a good link to read fast about Manncorp and I guess it's downsizing? My and others concerns, is that many SMT Mfg guys/gals might have to start thinking about becoming immigrants. YiE, DDave

In that context the "SMB" and "SMD" refers to the package or "case" type the mfg. uses. See the component mfgs. data sheet, last page usually that shows case outline drawing. These are usually avbl on the mfgs. website in a PDF.

Try posting for Tenyru users. That's the real machine mfg., if you have a PlacePro and not PlaceMaster. There are loads of Tenyru users in Asia.

I had a similar problem with cracked caps. I checked all my processes and finally found that the caps were cracked in the tape. Check the condition of the caps in the tape. This was unique to one mfg.- EPCOS.

Recommend you consult device mfg.'s data sheet or their customer support line to confirm from engineering. I think you mean't 30 C, not 300 C, because the device will likely be toast at 300 C.

Yes it is a conflict of interest. If the rep in question is also calling on other contract Assembly houses. If the rep is not calling on other Ca's then I would say no.

We are looking to have some PCBs (bare and assembled) independently tested for cleanliness. Our mfg facility is in Malaysia. Can anyone recommend a test house capable of testing to IPC-6012, IPC-5701, etc.

A wave machine mfg we are looking at is using this gas nitride treatment on all the 'wetted' parts to prevent the tin errosion of the underlying metal. Does anyone have any experience with this type of process. Any reliability/longevity data? Thanks
