It's awful hard to justify a purchase based on no information, and hard for them to get information out there if no one's buying them. If I was really interested I'd contact my closest sales rep (from the Assembleon website) and see if there are any

For the simple fact that the via in the middle of the pad causes the solder to wick into the hole instead of flowing out across the pad and part. Thus cause insufficient solder issues.

Hi All, We are using BGAs from a new supplier, and the BGA solder balls are not collpasing properly. Can someone out there shed some light on what could be the root cause? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Don't forget that leadfree solder can leach the iron out of old solder tanks. Make sure yours is compatable with leadfree solder. You don't want the tank disolving, unleashing a tidal wave of molten solder.

Are you thinking for the soon to be displaced air to be able to escape out the top? Raising components wouldn't be ideal from a process standpoint.
