Hello SMTNet, We had received boards from our CM, some came with a Tin plated finish on the SMT hermaphroditic edge connector, while others came with Gold plated on the same connector. Tyco supplies both version and they apparently mixed up parts.

A lot of it depends on what machines you are using and how well they implement dual lane feeders. A few general comparisons: Pros: -You can fit more feeders on your machines. -One dual lane feeder is cheaper than two single lane feeders Cons: -two

I am working on a magnetic sensors design and noticed that my measured magnetic field bias shifts over time. I have studied the bare PCB and measured that it can be magnetized with a strong magnet. I tested two blank (unpopulated PCBS). The first PC

I am new to SMT and need to buy a pick n place machine that runs ~7500 cph and super reliable/no headache. My budget is $10,000. Either I buy seriously used (~15-20 years old gsm) or new Chinese unit. I saw this video and am seriously considering

40 parts per board multiplied by half a million per year is 20 million placements per year. That’s serious production. The machine is rated at 7500 placements per hour, so running 24/7 that’s 111 days per year. The rated placement rates on pick and

Why are they so > expensive? Feeders are expensive, you can easily have considerably more invested in feeders than the placement machine. On new machines you won't find feeders coming in at much less than $500/each, often considerably more. As a r

Most likely I am doubling the budget mostly because of the feeders. I am leaning to Juke 750/760. Most likely will end up buying 2 of them once we are fully up and running and understanding everything. We are looking for a good old dinosaur who

The 740 has been a great machine for us. We've been able to reliably load components as small as 0603 (we've not tried 0402, but I believe with a special nozzle adaptor, you can get it to work) and place a 7x7 56 pin QFN with 0.4mm pin pitch with hi

Manncorp refuses to support used equipment. Plus their stuff looks like Torch ovens anyway with glorified controllers. They had a bad attitude towards their stuff. Did not sound like a responsible manufacturer to me. I did find two people suppo
