Running with sn100c in my solder pot!

Electronics Forum | Tue Jun 27 08:38:03 EDT 2006 | cuculi54986@yahoo.com

I tried some SN100C from AIM... On only one array. It flowed well on the chips but did not like the finish on the SOT23's on the board. I did not have enough arrays to mess around, so we switched it over to SAC305 and had no issues. I'm guessing w

Grant, Haven't doen any work with the SN100C paste, the problem I guess is yoru subject to the suppliers flux base so if that is poor then the alloy may not perform as well as it could. We've found Avantec to be pretty good at SMT but have got SN100C

Poor soldering on fine pitch?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 09 05:18:07 EDT 2006 | Rob

Hi Shawn, that you're baking the components makes me think that they are either old, or have been sitting around for a while (or none of the above & you are really dilligent!) Whilst baking will sort out the MSD issues (such as popcorning) it will

SM4007A Genpurpose Diode

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 09 12:35:00 EDT 2006 | G. eisner

We are finding this diode not reflowing well. We are having tombstoning issues with this part and only this part on different pcbs. The main thing we find is that under a scope there is blow outs as in air bubbles that look like they have exploded. I

Problems with SN100C in a Soltec Delta C Wave

Hi, Thanks for all the help guys, and we did a bunch of things to get it working. We raised the pump speed, and also went to a water based flux, which helped a lot. We also reduce pre heat as we were burning off the flux. It's doing really nice jo

Gold to gold soldering

We are placing a gold plated device (LCC) to a NiAu PCB using a SnPb No-clean solder. We're noticing quite a bit of difficulty with reliable joints (intermittent connectivity) and if we have to rework a particular device, adjacent devices of this sa

Oop's Pb BGA's in a RoHS process?

Electronics Forum | Fri Jun 16 15:05:29 EDT 2006 | grantp

Hi, We ran some boards and the girl on the line put in some Pb BGA's instead of using RoHS parts. This should not have happened as we have almost no Pb parts left, and we spray painted Pb parts fluorescent pink so it was obvious. The boards seem t

Electronics Forum | Wed Jun 21 07:44:31 EDT 2006 | amol_kane

Hi Muse, what do you mean by "with a SAC Ball and SnPb Paste the ball liquifies at a much higher heat"? Actually depending upon the ratio of solder contributed by the pad (SnPb) to the ratio of the SAC solder contributed by the BGA Ball, the SAC sold

SMT/Thru hole key cards

Currently in house were using circuit cam for our programming (we run mydata hence mycam). When were programming were also creating keycards for SMT,SMT inspection, thru hole and thru hole inspection. Sometimes with heavily populated boards, 2000-25

Components Misalignment/shifted (One pad away)

Electronics Forum | Sun Jul 23 18:28:59 EDT 2006 | mika

Please be a little bit more specific about your problem. 1. is it all components on every board? 2. is it only components placed from one machine in the line? 3. is the solder paste registration ok? 4. is this a new product, that have never been runn
