I'm looking for any information on the Samsung SM421 regarding BGA placement. We currently have a Universal GSM (circa 2004) GI-14 and we are approaching software limitations on multi-pitch BGAs. Any additional information about the SM421 capabilit

No sorry, I havnt seen anything like that. What is the package size/ball size/ or the ball pitch? I can have a look and see if I can get it to work on these machines? I'm pretty sure they will cope fine though.

It also varies with the types of deposits. Small deposits of paste (as seen on fine pitch parts or small chips) seem to be more affected by exposure. Jerry

Can you please tell us which components cracked? Component type, size, pitch, pin Qty, etc. The solder cracked in thermal cycling is very complicated and difficult to solve.

What is the difference between jet printing & jet dispensing. Our's is small prototyping, high reliability PCB assembly business. The SMT components used are up to 0.4 mm pitch BGA & 0201 size chips. Which is more suitable for us?

Is it indexing at the correct pitch when you push the forward button? I really can't remember much about those machines but it seems like that's an indication that it's not programmed correctly. I'll be bobpan knows, regardless. ;)

yes it's moving at the wrong pitch, about 3 components a time. Is the programming you talking about at the microcontroller AT85C55 or that serial memory 24C04? Or there is some procedure on the Quad to adjust this?
