Stencil sink stink

Electronics Forum | Mon Mar 21 14:33:40 EST 2005 | Mike Konrad

Hi Dave, No... It was not made by Aqueous Technologies, who, by the way, is very well still in business! There must be some water that is not leaving the system. High quantities of organic growth cause the smell. Does this machine have filters t

What does the filter housing smell like (inside)? How often do you change filters? The smell is probably from organic growth. Do you have slime growing on the inside walls below the water line? Does the bleach temporarily fix the problem? What is

Tombstone 0402 Caps......

Could also be a ground plane under one of the terminations of the cap causing heat sink troubles during reflow. One pad liquifies/solidifies before the other. Don't know a good solution for this outside of reworking them.

Hi, Yes, we do. Above that component we have a heat-sink to the metal chassis. We are thinking shocks to the chassis could be traveling into the board from that point. Grant

Surface Tension vs Part Mass

I assumed he intended to glue the nut to the part, turn the board upside down and run it through. Thing is, you might seriously have to crank up the heat to get it to reflow with that big sink on there.

Electronics Forum | Fri Dec 22 11:32:56 EST 2006 | realchunks

We generaly reduce 25% and get great heat sink capability. Mind you that we do not perferate the pad with vias as recommended. Our toe ends are not plated, so getting any toe fillet is impossible.
